Emergency response to cargo vessel MV Anna

KST provided emergency response to cargo vessel MV Anna in Rotterdam

On 26 June 2017, the cargo vessel MV Anna was en route to the Port of Rotterdam (20 km offshore) when a fire was broken out in the engine room. The crew of MV Anna battled the fire, but have requested assistance from Dutch fire-fighting resources. Coast guard teams arrived on the scene to start assisting with the fire-fighting operations and transferring some injured crew members from MV Anna.

As a result of the fire, a propulsion engine failure has occurred, and the vessel requested towage services. Thanks to a swift response of KST's crew and staff, two tugs with Fire-Fighting system could departed immediately to the scene.

Once SD Stingray and Panther arrived, the fire was already battled and no oil spill and pollution were occurred. As soon as the situation was under control, the tugs escorted MV Anna to a temporary destination in the Port of Rotterdam.

Thanks to a great cooperation between the Dutch coast guard, the KNRM (Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution), the pilot and the crew of the KST tugs, MV Anna could safely reach Rotterdam.
