Havenkrant Ghent boarded tugboat Brugge
On Monday 21
November 2016, the reporters of Havenkrant Ghent boarded the tugboat Brugge to
spend a day with the crew and interview them for an article in the Havenkrant
magazine.
Together with
its sister ship the Gent, the Brugge towed the Russian cargo ship Pomyore
through the Terneuzen - Gent Canal. The crew is an experienced trio, consisting
of Captain Rudy Notterdaeme, Helmsman Dirk De Wilde and Engineer Johan Van
Nieuwenhuyze, who have been sailing together for 28 years. They grew up in the
surroundings of Ghent and know the canal like the back of their hands.
