The team of Boluda Towage in the Scheldt Area - consisting of crews on board the tugs, office staff in Antwerp, Terneuzen and Zeebrugge, and the management team - holds Belgian and Dutch citizenship.

Furthermore, Boluda Towage Rotterdam provides Tender & Transfer Services on the Dutch and Flemish North Sea.

STRONG LOCAL ROOTS
Boluda Towage’s rich history in Belgium and the Scheldt Area dates back to 19th century.
We go back in the history of our legal predecessor URS, the Union of Rescue and Towing Services (Unie van Reddings- en Sleepdiensten). This company was for many years the largest towing company in the Scheldt area. It has been active in towage since 1870.
After that, several acquisition processes passed:
- In 2008, Smit Internationale took a 100% stake in URS.
- In 2016, the European harbour towage activities of Smit Internationale (now a subsidiary of Boskalis) were merged with the European harbour towage activities of Kotug (part of Kotug International) and the company Kotug Smit Towage was created.
- In 2019, Boluda Towage acquired Kotug Smit.
