Boluda Towage received this distinction for its ongoing commitment to innovation across its fleet, implementing energy‑optimization systems aimed at achieving increasingly efficient and sustainable towage operations.

 

22.05.2026. Yesterday, during the Gala ceremony of the ITS Awards 2026, celebrated in in Gothenburg, Sweden, Boluda Towage was recognized by the industry becoming Innovation Company of the year.

 

A distinction that recognized the company’s implementation of Total Energy Optimization Systems (TEOS) on newly built tugboats from 2025 onwards.

 

This integration represents an innovative and forward‑looking approach to harbour towage, setting a new standard for energy‑management efficiency within high‑demand port operations.

 

In addition, they distribute engine workload more efficiently, extending maintenance intervals, improving the stability of the electrical system and enhancing the tug’s operational safety, allowing to maintain maximum bollard pull without interruption

 

The technological upgrade directly reinforces Boluda Towage’s long-term decarbonization roadmap and corporate sustainability objectives, aligning fleet development with international emissions reduction target.
