Geert Vandecappelle, CEO of Boluda Towage Europe, has been appointed today as Chairman of the British Tugowners Association (BTA), the organization representing the main port towage operators in the United Kingdom.
The appointment, agreed during the Association’s General Assembly held in Liverpool, recognizes Vandecappelle’s career and leadership in the maritime towage sector, as well as his active involvement in developing standards for operational safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
From his new position, he will contribute to advancing the BTA’s key workstreams, focused on improving operational safety, adapting to new regulatory challenges, and progressing toward a more efficient and responsible activity model, in line with the evolution of the international maritime sector.
The British Tugowners Association brings together companies whose tugboats operate in the UK’s main ports, playing a key role in the safe and efficient functioning of the maritime logistics chain.
This appointment strengthens Boluda Towage’s presence in the main international forums of the sector, consolidating its role as one of the leading operators in port towage.
